The island of Šolta is one of the Split offshore islands with moving History west of the island of Brač. There are several connections several times a day Ferry from Split to Rogač to Šolta. The main town is Grohote in the inand of the island. The green island of Šolta is also known as a producer of excellent olive oil by place names such as those of the town Maslinica (Croatian "maslina" - "the olive") at the western tip of the island.
