The Starigrad fortress from the 15th century is located on a 262 meter high ridge above the old town of Omiš. It was built to defend against the Ottoman Empire. From there you have a breathtaking view of the Adriatic Sea and the mouth of the Cetina in Omiš. Two mountain paths lead up to the fortress - one starts in the old town just before the tunnel on the Cetina (the difficult path), the other begins in the residential area south of the old town above the old cemetery.
